Methoni is a town on the south western coast of the Peloponnese just 9 kilometres away from Pylos. Methoni developed into an important trade centre and became prosperus as many travellers stopped on the way from Venice to the Holy Lands.
Today the fortress occupy the whole area of the cape and it remains very impressive.
Methoni and Koroni are sister cities and their fortresses are known as “The eyes of the serene republic”.
